In her practice, Kristina Feldhammer moves between various disciplines such as performance, alternative photography and plant based printing processes – always with a focus on finding different ways of collaborating with the environment and the more-than-human. The close examination and exploration of the materials she works with is a decisive factor in all her projects.
Kristina is interested in working with nature and the body as archives, as well as sourcing from her own artistic archive and in this way constantly recycling, repurposing and reframing old materials and prevailing conditions. Through working with cameraless photographic techniques, she is not only exploring the primary principles of photography but also the possibilities of what it can be: a process of physicality, of seeing, sensing and moving.
She also co-creates solo- and group-performances, is a facilitator of Butoh and holds workshops as well as lectures on alternative photographic processes.
